What Is a Chemical Peel?
At Toribella Skin Clinic we use PCA chemical peels to address your specific skin concerns. PCA peels are formulated with a combination of exfoliating ingredients along with active ingredients to target the cause of each skin concern.

What to Expect with chemical peels
Our stand alone PCA peel is a 30 minute service that includes a consultation, Pre-cleanse and cleanse of the skin along with the peel application and finishing products. This self neutralizing peel is recommended to be performed every 2-4 weeks for optimal results. You will leave with a 7 day supply of after care products included with the service. You can expect little to no down time with the PCA peels, mild flaking and peeling may occur.
How to Prepare for CHemical Peels?
Discontinue the use of active ingredients at a minimum of 48-72 hours prior to service. This includes:
Retinols
Vitamin C
Tretinoin
Acids (Mandelic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Lactic acid, Azelaic acid)
Benzoyl Peroxide
Avoid direct / long periods of sun exposure for 48 hours prior to service
If your skin is sunburnt, Please do not schedule appointment until the skin has healed
No Botox within 7 days prior to treatment
No filler within 2 weeks prior to treatment

We have an option for every concern, from acne and pigmentation to fine lines, dullness, and redness. Your expert level esthetician selects the peel around your skin rather than from a set menu. Every peel includes a skin analysis, application, finishing products, and a 7-day supply of aftercare to take home.

Chemical peels do not hurt! There can be a bit of a tingling sensation but with our self neutralizing PCA peels you will leave our spa with little to no sensation.

This depends on the concerns you want to target, 3-6 peel sessions are suggested.

We have an option for every concern including Acne, Fine lines & Wrinkles, Dullness and dehydration, Pigmentation and melasma, redness and rosacea

We like to call this our “lunch break special” because your treatment is typically a 15-20 minute service. Our PCA peels are perfect for targeting concerns quickly and efficiently as they are self neutralizing.
Peeling is normal and your skin can “flake” for 3-5 days after your peel. Please be aware the peeling/ flaking is minimum and with the right after care products you can speed up the process or healing.

Our PCA peel is a stand alone service that includes a double cleanse, Skin analysis and application of the peel. We will leave your peel on as it is self neutralizing and apply finishing products before you leave. You will rinse your skin as directed by your esthetician a few hours after treatment. This treatment does include a 7 day supply of aftercare products for you to take home.

Marissa is a licensed esthetician and proud graduate of Rizzieri Aveda school. Her passion for skincare started way back to when she was younger as she has dealt with stubborn acne pretty much her entire life. Marissa’s goal is to provide her clients with the education and treatments necessary to help them feel confident in your own skin.
Before esthetics, Marissa wore a lot of hats— Starting in the restaurant industry since she was 16 along with 5 years in the real estate world—and now she gets to combine all that people-loving energy with her obsession for skin and relaxation. Marissa would call herself an outgoing introvert, which basically means “I’ll talk your ear off about skincare but also give you the most peaceful treatment room vibes.”
When Marissa is not in the spa, you can find her at the beach, practicing yoga, trying new restaurants or just outside enjoying nature.

microneedling vs chemical peels — which one do I need?
Both chemical peels and microneedling are results-driven treatments designed to improve the appearance and health of the skin, but they work in very different ways. The best treatment depends on your skin type, concerns, goals, and desired downtime.
Chemical peels use carefully selected exfoliating acids to remove damaged surface cells and encourage healthier, more even-looking skin. Depending on the peel selected, treatments can range from gentle exfoliation with little to no downtime to more advanced resurfacing treatments.
Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate the body's natural healing response. This encourages collagen and elastin production, helping to improve the skin's structure and texture over time.
There isn't one treatment that is best for everyone. Chemical peels tend to be the better choice for concerns involving the surface of the skin, such as pigmentation, congestion, dullness, and acne. Microneedling is often the better choice for deeper textural concerns, such as acne scarring, fine lines, and loss of firmness.
For some clients, the most effective approach may be a customized combination of treatments performed over a series of appointments. Your esthetician can evaluate your skin and recommend the treatment that best supports your individual goals.
