What is diolaze laser hair removal?
Diolaze uses a diode laser — a type of laser that specifically targets the pigment inside the hair follicle. When the laser detects that pigment, it vaporizes the hair at the root. During treatment, it's actually possible to see the hair get burned out and exit the follicle — a visible confirmation that the laser is doing its job.
Because Diolaze targets pigment, it works best on patients with darker hair. Blonde and white hair does not contain enough pigment for the laser to detect effectively. Some redheads respond well to treatment — a test patch is always recommended to confirm candidacy before committing to a full series.

What to Expect Before, During, and After Treatment
Before your appointment: Shave the area as close to your appointment as possible, ideally the same day. The goal is hair that is as short as possible at the surface while the follicle remains intact beneath the skin for the laser to target.
During treatment: Your provider will apply an ultrasound gel to the treatment area, and both you and your provider will wear protective goggles. The device makes two to three passes over the skin per session. Most treatment areas are completed quickly — legs take approximately one hour, but underarms, bikini, and facial areas move much faster.
After treatment: Recovery is simple. Resume your normal routine. If the treated area is particularly red or irritated, aloe vera applied to the skin will help.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
The standard protocol is six treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart. Some patients may need additional sessions depending on the area being treated and whether the hair growth has a hormonal component, which can make follicles more resistant to laser reduction.
Laser hair removal is highly effective — but not a guarantee of 100% elimination. An 80% reduction is the realistic and accurate expectation for most patients. For most people, that outcome is genuinely life-changing.
