Neurotoxin injections

What is dysport?

Dysport is a neurotoxin — one of several types of medical injections used to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles and smooth expression lines. Like all neurotoxins, it works by binding to the muscle and reducing its ability to contract. The result is softer, smoother skin in treatment areas, with natural facial movement preserved where you want it.

Dysport is known for a slightly faster onset compared to other brands — patients often notice results within a day or two of treatment.

What Does dysport Treat?

Dysport treats the same areas as other neurotoxins:

  • Forehead lines

  • Frown lines (eleven lines)

  • Crow's feet

  • Lip flip

  • Neck bands — the platysmal bands that cause visible banding along the neck and jawline

  • Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) — neurotoxins can be injected into the underarm area to significantly reduce sweating. It's a lesser-known application, but an effective one.

The Galderma Brilliance Rewards Program

Dysport is manufactured by Galderma, which offers a patient rewards program that provides savings on every treatment. Points accumulate toward future appointments, making it easier to maintain results over time. Ask your practitioner about this program during your consultation or visit.

Finding the Right Neurotoxin for You

Every neurotoxin brand has its own formulation, onset characteristics, and diffusion pattern — and every patient responds differently. One industry observation puts it well: toxins have personalities, just like people do. Some patients find they respond better to one brand over another. Others rotate between brands without noticing any difference.

At Toribella, the approach is to match the right neurotoxin to the right patient. For patients who are open to it, rotating brands at each visit can also help reduce the chance of developing resistance over time. If you have a strong preference for one product, that preference is always respected.

What to Expect Before, During, and After Treatment

Consultation: Every treatment begins with a conversation. For first-time patients, this means discussing goals, concerns, and which areas you'd like to address. For returning patients, your provider reviews your previous treatment — what worked, what you liked, and what you might want to adjust.

Assessment: You'll be asked to make a series of expressions — raising your eyebrows, frowning, smiling — so your provider can assess your muscle movement patterns and animation. Treatment is customized based on how you move, what you want to achieve, and how much movement you'd like to retain. Some patients prefer a frozen look; others want subtle softening with natural movement.

Treatment: Small markings are placed on the skin with a marking pencil to guide precise injection placement. Each injection delivers between one and eight units, with total treatment ranging from approximately 25 to 75 units depending on the areas treated and the patient's goals.

After treatment: Mild soreness, slight redness, and small bumps at injection sites (similar to mosquito bites) are normal and resolve within minutes. Bruising is possible if a small vessel is contacted — this is not a complication, and ice packs help it resolve quickly. There is typically no meaningful downtime.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

Results last anywhere from three to six months depending on the individual — how quickly your body metabolizes the product, how much movement returns, and your personal preference for when to re-treat. Some patients come back as soon as movement returns; others let it fully wear off first. Toribella will not inject any sooner than 12 weeks between treatments.

At Toribella, the approach is to match the right neurotoxin to the right patient. Toribella offers highly personalized service and customizes every treatment plan to the patient’s goals and needs.
