What IS A DERMAPLANING
Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation treatment using a medical-grade scalpel. The blade removes the layer of dead skin cells and peach fuzz that accumulates on the surface of your face over time — the barrier that makes skin look dull, makes your products feel like they've stopped working, and makes makeup sit unevenly.
Once that layer is removed, products can actually reach the deeper layers of the skin where they're meant to work. Skin looks brighter. Makeup applies more evenly. Your routine becomes more effective.

Does peach fuzz growing back darker and thinker after dermaplaning?
No, It doesn't. Peach fuzz is vellus hair — it returns the same as before. The only time hair grows back coarser or darker is with terminal hair, meaning already-dark chin hairs, sideburns, or upper lip growth. Those areas are avoided during dermaplaning. If you have terminal hair you'd like addressed at the same visit, waxing can be done alongside dermaplaning. Talk to our expert esthetician about what treatment is right for you.
What to Expect Before, During, and After Treatment
Before your appointment: Before treatment, your esthetician examines your skin after the initial cleanse. If your barrier is sensitized — skin that reacts easily, stings on contact, or goes pink quickly — dermaplaning isn't the right step that day. Building up the barrier first is the better approach, and she'll walk you through what that looks like.
During treatment: A light oil pre-cleanse is applied before the blade. Dermaplaning with oil is smoother and more comfortable than going in dry. The full standalone service takes about 30 minutes.
After treatment: Finishing products are applied and you're done.

Most clients add dermaplaning to a facial rather than booking it standalone. When dermaplaning is done before a chemical peel or enzyme exfoliation, you get a mechanical exfoliation layer first, then a chemical layer on top — resulting in a noticeably deeper result than either treatment alone.

Before esthetics, Marissa wore a lot of hats— Starting in the restaurant industry since she was 16 along with 5 years in the real estate world—and now she gets to combine all that people-loving energy with her obsession for skin and relaxation. Marissa would call herself an outgoing introvert, which basically means “I’ll talk your ear off about skincare but also give you the most peaceful treatment room vibes.”
When Marissa is not in the spa, you can find her at the beach, practicing yoga, trying new restaurants or just outside enjoying nature.
